Wearing of Face Masks Made Mandatory in Shopian- Violators to be Fined 500 Rupees
Wearing of masks at public places has been made compulsory in South Kashmir's Shopian district to minimize the chances of further spread of Covid-19 while violators can be fined Rs 500.
An order, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that the usage of masks has been made mandatory in view of the recent spike in Covid-19 positive cases across the country.
The order was issued under Section 34 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 by district magistrate Shopian.
The orders state that all the Executive Magistrates, BDOs, District/Sectoral officers are hereby directed to ensure the usage of masks in their respective jurisdictions and in case of any person found without wearing a mask at public places, a fine of Rs 500 be imposed to violators and the...
