UPSC Announces Civil Services 2019 Results, Pradeep Singh Tops the Exam

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the results of the Civil Services exam 2019. Pradeep Singh has emerged as the topper followed by Jatin Kishore and Pratibha Verma at second and third position, respectively. The results are based on the written part of Civil Services examination, 2019 which were held in September 2019 and the interviews or Personality Tests that were conducted from February-August, 2020. Around 829 candidates are shortlisted for various Civil Services in the 2019 exam. The Civil Services exams are held every year for the selection of candidates to Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and Other Central Services.

India records the last 24 hours spike of 52,050 positive cases and 803 deaths due to COVID-19. India's total COVID-19 tally increases to 18,55,746 including 5,86,298 active cases, 12,30,510 cured and 38,938 deaths, according to the data released by the Health Ministry. Two Day Curfew Imposed in Srinagar on Anniversary of Revocation of Article 370

In view of the anniversary of the revocation of Article 370 and 35A an order has been issued by the District Magistrate, Srinagar, stating that strict restrictions will be imposed in the capital city of Srinagar. The order stated the reason for the restrictions as “a series of inputs have been received suggesting that separatists and Pakistan sponsored groups are planning to observe 5th August as a black day”. Man Killed by Three PUBG Maniacs in Jammu

A man was killed by three PUBG maniacs when he asked the game players to stop making noise while playing the online game. The alleged murder took place in Badyal Qazian village of R S Pura tehsil in Jammu district. A case has been lodged and the three accused are arrested. While talking to media persons, the officials said that “Raj Kumar, Bikram Jeet, and Rohit Kumar were playing the online game, when Daleep Raj objected and asked them not to make noise”. Family of Missing Kokernag Youth Appeals Him to Return Home

The family of the youth, Ilyas Ahmad Dar, who has gone missing from his home on 23rd July has urged him to return. The family has also appealed to the Government to trace their 23-year-old son.
