MMU Calls for Shutdown in Kashmir Valley on Saturday

March 12 Calling for a complete shutdown on Saturday, Muttahid-e-Masjlis Ulema on Tuesday appealed people to stage protest against the summoning of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and ban on Jamaat post Friday prayers. Addressing a presser, Mufti Azam, Nasir-ul-Islam condemned the summoning of Mirwaiz and ban on Jamaat-e-Islami and appealed people to observe complete shutdown on Saturday to protest against the moves. He also appealed people to stage protest against the moves after Friday congregational prayers.

3 People Killed in a Snowstorm at Kupwara

March 12 Three persons have been killed in a snowstorm late Monday night at Khooni Nalah area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Locals form Kupwra told The Kashmiriyat that a group of people on way from Kupwara to Karnah when a snow storm hit the area, trapping them in the area near Khooni Nalah. March 11 Government forces have been alerted by intelligence agencies of another Pulwama-like attack in the Kashmir Valley, IndiaToday reported. According to the report intel agencies have also reported Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) has been plotting a fresh suicide attack in Jammu and Kashmir. The intelligence warning has come almost a month after 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed in a suicide attack in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
