Protests to Be Held At Delhi Against Pulwama Killings

December 19 A protest march has been organized in New Delhi's Jantar Mantar against the "gruesome" murder of seven civilians in Pulwama on Saturday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the march has been candle light vigil and protest demonstration has been organized by a group of Civil Society Organization including the People's Union for Civil Liberties, National Alliance of People's Movements. The March is scheduled to start in about 4:30 pm at the Delhi's Jantar Mantar and is expected to be attended by both Kashmiri and Non Kashmiri Participants. A Student while speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that scores of students under the banner of Aligarh Muslim University Students Union held gathered in the University to protest the civilian killings at the hands of government forces in Pulwama district. Pulwama Shuts for the Fifth Consecutive Day Against Killings

December 19 The Pulwama District of Southern part has shut down for the fifth consecutive day to mourn the Killing of three Militants and Seven civilians in the Sirnoo area of South Kashmir on Saturday. The Kashmiriyat was informed that traffic is off the roads, while business establishments are shut in the area on Wednesday for the fifth consecutive day. Hundreds of people are still visiting the houses of Slain Militants and civilians in the Pulwama District of South Kashmir. The Mobile Internet services were barred in Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam and Islamabad (Anantnag) districts on Saturday after seven civilians were shot dead by Government Forces in Sirnoo area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Telecom authorities shortly received communication to snap down mobile internet in the entire Kashmir valley, however the Services were restored in most parts of the valley including Srinagar on Monday evening. Government Announces Winter Vacation for Colleges in Jammu Kashmir

The Jammu Kashmir Government on Tuesday announced winter vacations for colleges. A government order said that the all colleges of Kashmir division shall observe winter vacation from December 24 2018 to February 11 2019. The order also stated that all government degree colleges of Jammu division except those falling in winter zone of the division shall observe the vacations from January 7 2019 to January 16 2019. The colleges falling in winter zone of Jammu division shall observe winter vacation from January 1 to February 19 2019.

6 Including a Taliban Judge Killed in Afghanistan

December 18 Six militants including a Taliban judge were killed after Afghan force aircraft attacked a Taliban hideout in Dawlat Abad district of the northern Faryab province on Monday, said an army statement released here Tuesday. "Mullah Rasoul the Taliban shadow judge for Faryab province was killed along with five armed insurgents after fighting aircraft targeted Taliban hideout in Firoza village of Dawlat Abad district on Monday afternoon," the statement asserted.
