Two women from central Kashmir’s Budgam district were injured on Monday after being stabbed with a sharp-edged weapon during a domestic altercation, officials said. The victims, (names withheld) both residents of Ganie Mohalla, Budgam, were initially taken to District Hospital Budgam before being referred to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for specialised treatment. According to attendants, the duo sustained injuries after being attacked by a known woman inside their home. One suffered an injury to the left side of her upper abdomen, while another sustained a stab wound to her face. Initial reports reaching The Kashmiriyat indicate that the mishap involved a Tata Mobile vehicle and a Grand I20 vehicle on the NH444 highway. The injured were first taken to the local hospital, and two critically injured individuals were referred to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for advanced treatment. Police have registered the incident and are investigating the cause of the accident.

Leopard attacks 8-year-old boy in Shopian

Meer Irfan An 8-year-old boy, Rehan Suhail, from the Kashwa area of Chetragam in Shopian was attacked by a leopard on Monday evening. Locals said Rehan was riding his bicycle around 7 p.m. when he was attacked by an unknown animal, later identified as a leopard. Villagers told The Kashmiriyat that they quickly intervened and rescued the boy. He was first taken to Shopian Hospital, from where doctors referred him to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for further treatment. Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant, particularly in areas near forests, as leopard sightings have reportedly increased in parts of Shopian in recent weeks.

Loud blast like sound created panic in several areas of south Kashmir on Monday afternoon. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that on Monday around 1:10 P.M., a massive sound was heard in south Kashmir creating panic among locals. They said that the sound was heard in districts of Pulwama, Kulgam, Shopian and Anantnag district.
