
The terror attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam has left Karnataka in mourning, with confirmation that two Kannadiga (residents of Karnataka) tourists lost their lives and one more sustained injuries in the brutal attack.

The deceased have been identified as Manjunath Shivamurthy and Shivam Mogga, both hailing from Karnataka. Their tragic deaths have sent shockwaves through their hometowns, as friends and family grapple with the news of the senseless violence.
Another tourist, Abhijavam Rao, was injured in the attack but is currently reported to be in stable condition. He is receiving medical attention in Jammu and Kashmir, with state officials in close coordination to ensure his safe recovery.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, addressing the media and through a statement on social media, strongly condemned the attack and reaffirmed the government’s support to the affected families.
“The Government of Karnataka stands firmly with those affected,” he said. “We are coordinating with Jammu and Kashmir authorities to ensure all necessary assistance is extended.”
Emergency teams, including senior officers and personnel from the police and the Sports Department, have been dispatched to J&K to provide on-ground support and facilitate the return of the victims.
