The Jammu Kashmir Government on Saturday announced that infrastructure at the picturesque Pahalgam resort in south Kashmir is set to be outsourced through the Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.
Responding to a question from MLA Altaf Ahmad Wani, the Minister in charge of the Tourism Department said that the Jammu Kashmir Tourist Development Corporation (JKTDC) unit, Pahalgam Club and Convention Centre (PC&CC), and hutments are in the process of being outsourced through PPP mode by a committee constituted under government order No. 645-JK (GAD) of 2023, dated 01.06.2023.
The government clarified that no policy or exemption has been granted in obtaining building permissions for PMAY beneficiaries or local residents within the jurisdiction of the Pahalgam Development Authority (PDA).
“Every person intending to undertake or carry out the development of any site must seek permission,” the government stated. (KNO)
