Pak Open Fires in Jammu Kashmir’s Poonch, No Loss of Life

On Friday, Pakistan initiated heavy firing and shelling on Indian positions and forward areas along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Mankote sector of Poonch district, prompting India to retaliate in equal measure.

India retaliated to the firing. Defence spokesperson Lt Col Devender Anand said, at about 0515 hours (5:15 am), Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms and then switching over to mortar shelling along the LoC in Mankote sector.

There was no loss of life or injury on the Indian side. Pakistani has violated the ceasefire for 18 times this month.
