Pakistan fired at Indian posts along LoC, Indian army responded effectively: Army

The Indian Army has reported a fresh ceasefire violation by Pakistan during the night of May 2–3, 2025.

According to official sources, Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked small-arms fire across the Line of Control (LoC), specifically targeting the Kupwara, Uri, and Akhnoor sectors in Jammu Kashmir.

The Indian Army responded “promptly and proportionately,” maintaining control of the situation and ensuring no casualties were reported on the Indian side as of this update.

The development marks another escalation in tensions, following a series of similar incidents reported since late April.

This incident comes in the aftermath of the deadly attack on April 22, 2025, in Pahalgam, where 26 civilians, mostly Hindu tourists, were killed.

The attack was claimed by the Resistance Front (TRF), which India has linked to Pakistan-based terror groups, however, the TRF later distanced itself from the attack.

In retaliation, India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty and expelled Pakistani diplomats, while Pakistan has increased its military posture along the border.
