Panic in Barzulla as residents allege ‘fireballs’ thrown at houses during night, Appeal to Police for investigation

Panic has gripped the Barzulla area of Srinagar after unknown persons allegedly threw fireballs with petrol towards the residential houses during night hours.

Speaking to the media the local residents said that during the intervening night of Sunday and Monday, unknown persons threw fireballs at several residential houses in the Barzulla area, triggering panic among the locals.

An old woman who claimed to be an eyewitness to the incident said, “I was sleeping, but I suddenly woke up to footsteps. Soon I saw a flame of fireballs hit the tarpaulin sheet in our house. The fireball, however, fell outside the house. Another fireball was thrown at the house of one Mehraj u Din, who suffered a little damage too. The clothes were burnt in the incident,” she claimed.

Had the locals not stepped in before any major incident, we would have lost property worth crores of rupees and at least 16 houses would have been damaged due to the density of the houses in the area, another Local said. “It was around 2:15 AM, that the incident happened. We do not understand who it was. Why are they troubling Kashmiris?” he asked.

“Why are Balls these fireballs being thrown at the houses? Is it these fireballs that is leading to the growing fire incidents in Kashmir?” he asked.

The Locals appealed to the administration and the local Police to intervene and investigate the matter thoroughly.
