
A partial shutdown is being observed in the old town area of Sopore against the killing of a local youth who had joined Militancy during an encounter in Baramulla district on Thursday.
Locals from Sopore told The Kashmiriyat that the shops and business establishments in old town of Sopore in shut in protest against the killing of Amir Siraj, who was a local resident.
Amir, a resident of Sopore had gone missing in June this year after which he had joined the militant outfit Jaish e Muhammad. Amir was a known footballer from his area.
On Thursday, Amir along with a foreign militant was killed during a gunfight in Wanigam area of Kreeri in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district
