On 06 June 2012 the foundation stone of mini secretariat Tangmarg was laid by the former chief Minister of Jammu Kashmir, Omar Abdullah along with Minister of Agricultural And MLA Gulmarg Ghulam Hassan Mir.

However the construction site as observed by The Kashmiriyat remains as it was when Omar Abdullah left the Government.

The aim behind constructing the Mini secretariat was to benefit the people of Central as well as North Kashmir who face hardships and find it inconvenient to travel to Srinagar even for the smallest works to be done.

The Locals speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that “Unfortunately after NC lost the elections, the successor Government did not pay any heed to the area, in fact the work at Mini secretariat was stopped.”

The PDP- BJP Government avoided the whole Tangmarg area in particular and Baramulla District in General as NC has a huge following here, the locals alleged.

The residents said that the Mehbooba led Government despite several requests from the locals paid least attention to the the North and Central Kashmir Districts.

“We have become victims of political vendetta and people unnecessarily got trapped in the line of fire between two parties,” a teacher, Shabir Hussain told The Kashmiriyat.

The Locals appealed the Governor and the administration to pay attention towards the mini pending project of the Mini Secretariat Tangmarg as early as possible.
