PDP leader, four others injured after being allegedly attacked by AIP workers in Shopian

Serval workers of People’s Democratic Party were allegedly attacked by unknown persons in the Shopian district of south Kashmir.

Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, a close associate of PDP leader Yawar Ahmed Banday said that workers of the Awami Itehad Party attacked the PDP cavalcade in Balpora area of Shopian, causing injuries to the PDP leader and four of his associates.

“They have been wounded and shifted to the SMHS hospital in Srinagar,” Irfan’s relative said.

An official told The Kashmiriyat that a scuffle reported between PDP and AIP party workers in Balpora, Shopian, resulting in minor injuries.

Police, meanwhile, has said that it has taken cognizance of was clash between two political parties in Shopian.

The police spokesman further stated that both parties have been reported for violations of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).

Awami Itehad Party could not be reached for comments. The story will be updated if we hear from them.
