People’s Democratic Party leader Waheed Para has been charged with breaching the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) by conducting a roadshow without authorization in Pulwama, south Kashmir.
The FIR against Para, filed on May 8 at Pulwama police station, cites section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, accusing him of disregarding an order duly issued by a public servant.
Complaint against Para was lodged by the MCC nodal officer and Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Pulwama.
He has been accused of organizing a roadshow across several areas in Pulwama on April 27 without obtaining permission from the relevant authorities
According to the report from the senior superintendent of police, Para’s procession, starting from the PDP office and passing through Rajpora Chowk, Murran, and Peaks crossing, was deemed a violation of the MCC.
Despite warnings from the Pulwama police station’s SHO and the duty magistrate, Para continued his campaign, endangering not only his own security but also that of others.
