
In the holy city of Mashhad, Iran, Kashmiri Seminary scholars and students organized a peaceful protest against the use of pellet-firing on the local people of Kashmir.
They also condemned the use of inhumane and insensitive force on people there. Protesters also demanded a ban of pellet guns in Kashmir and an end to the violence.
Recently in Kashmir, shotgun pellets and tear gas were fired to disperse hundreds of mainly Shia Muslims participating in a Muharram procession which injured dozens of people.
Over 200 people were detained in Srinagar for participating in the processions and at least seven people were arrested under an anti-terror law for raising pro-freedom slogans.
