The residents of Sheikhpora village of Tulail valley in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district Thursday complained of inadequate healthcare and lack of basic diagnostic facilities at Primary Health Centre (PHC).
While complaining about their sufferings, the residents of Tulail Sheikhpora told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the health centre was inadequately staffed due to which patient care had been badly hit.
“There are no medicines available in the hospital. If anyone falls ill at night, we can’t visit the centre as doctors are not available here,” they said.
The attendants said that only a few paramedics were posted at the centre which speaking volumes about the functioning of heath centre in this remote area.
“in absence of X-ray and diagnostic testing facilities here, patients are being forced to Dawar hospital, ” Fayaz Ahamad a local residents said.
“We are always treated unfairly. Older people are more worried about medical facilities here as hospitals are far away and those nearby lack adequate facilities,” Nafees, a student said.
The locals have requested the Director of Health Services Kashmir to personally look into the matter and redress their grievances.
Meanwhile, despite repeated attempts, CMO Bandipora Bashir Ahamd and BMO Gurez didn’t not respond to the calls.
However, a heath official said that they are constantly monitoring the work of PHC’s.
