Friday prayers in the Kashmir valley were organized after months, as mosques remained closed due to the lockdown because of the global pandemic.
The grand mosque of Kashmir and various other mosques opened many months after the Indian Government announced the lockdown and ordered religious congregations to be barred.
In Islamabad (Anantnag) district of South Kashmir, the administration had imposed a lockdown for three days, however protests were held in various parts of the district.
Reports from Nanil, Breenti and several others areas of the district reaching The Kashmiriyat said that massive protests were held against the blasphemous comments.
In Pulwama, Moulana Aijaz Noori of Ummat e Islami staged a candle light demonstration to demand a stringent punishment to the Sadhu eho made the remarks, Ummat e Islami’s Shahnawaz Gazali staged a heavy protest in Shopian district.
Protesting against the blasphemous comments made by a Hindu priest in Reasi, thousands of Kashmiris took to streets on Friday post congregation prayers in various parts of North, South and central Kashmir.
In various parts of South Kashmir, as per reports received by The Kashmiriyat, protests were held in Pahalgam, Sallar, in parts of Anantnag despite the lockdown imposed in the District by the administration.
Shouting slogans against the hindu cleric, pro Islam slogans, hundreds of people marched the streets of Dochinpora area in islamabad (anantnag), accusing the admi of turning a blind eye to the hate comments.
Demanding stringent punishment against the priest against the blasphemer, hundreds of Locals marched the streets of Ganderbal and Baramulla districts.
Reports of protests were also received from parts of the Chenab valley.
