‘PM Modi didn’t even mention the 26 victims, Gandhis did’: Pahalgam victim’s wife expresses pain

Aishanya Dwivedi, who lost her husband Shubham Dwivedi in the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, says the pain of his death still haunts her, but what hurt her most was that Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not even mention the 26 victims in his Parliament speech.

“One thing that hurt me the most was that the Prime Minister made no mention of those 26 people,” she said. “Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi mentioned those 26 victims, and I thank them for that. I expected the Prime Minister to at least acknowledge their names, but he did not, it was hurtful.”

Aishanya and her husband were holidaying in the Baisaran meadow of Pahalgam when gunmen opened fire, killing 26 people—mostly tourists—in one of the deadliest civilian attacks in Kashmir in recent years.

She said she watched Shubham die in her arms, and the trauma remains fresh.

Following the attack, India launched Operation Sindoor, striking targets across the border. In a recent encounter, security forces killed three militants linked to the massacre. “The pain will never go, but at least some peace will come to us,” Aishanya said, reacting to the killings of the accused terrorists.
