
Jammu Kashmir Police claimed to have arrested a rape accused within hours after a minor girl filed a complaint in Baramulla.
In a statement, Baramulla Police said, Police Station Baramulla received a written complaint from one minor girl (name withheld) stating therein that she was abducted by one person and raped at a secluded place in Sangri.
“On this written complaint case FIR was registered in Police Station Baramulla under relevant sections of the law,” reads the statement.
The accused was identified in the complaint as Mohammad Umar Parray (Venture Driver) S/O Mohammad Amin Parray R/O Parray Mohalla Sangri.
Police Station Baramulla utilizing all technical and human sources and with strenuous efforts traced the accused and arrested him in the instant case, Police said.
Medico-legal formalities of the girl have been conducted and further investigation of the case is in progress.
