Police busts immoral trafficking racket in Baramulla, four arrested

Baramulla Police on Sunday said it busted a immoral trafficking racket operating in the Barzulla area of Kunzer, following a specific and credible input.

According to the police, a team from Kunzer Police Station conducted a swift raid in the area, leading to the arrest of four individuals allegedly involved in immoral trafficking.

Those apprehended have been identified as Ab Ahad Waza, a resident of Utikoo Sheikhpora; Mohd Abdullah Waza, a resident of Barzulla Kunzer; and Bilal Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Bamroda who is presently living in Utikoo.

A woman was also arrested, but her identity has been withheld by the authorities.

Police have registered a case under FIR No. 37/2025 at Police Station Kunzer under sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act (PITA).

Officials said an investigation is underway to determine the extent of the racket and whether a larger network is involved.

Reaffirming its stance against social evils, Baramulla Police urged residents to remain vigilant and report any such illegal activities to the nearest police station.
