Continuing its unwavering efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society today, the Excise Department launched a special drive against narcotic drug cultivation. It destroyed huge cultivation Poppy on the spot.
Acting on specific information about the cultivation of Poppy, Excise Department along with Police party led by SHO PS Kulgam Insp. Abdul Ahad and Revenue Department have destroyed the said poppy cultivation spread over many Kanals of Land in many villages of district kulgam,katrsoo, okey, Hadigam and its adjacent areas falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Kulgam.
Police Kulgam has already advised all those who have cultivated Poppy or any other Narcotic substances anywhere in district Kulgam to destroy the same on their own, failing which they shall face strict action under the law.
The drive will continue in the future with the motive to eradicate this menace from its roots. The public is also requested to extend cooperation to the Police Kulgam, Excise Department, and Revenue Department to come forward with any information regarding any kind of anti-social activity in their neighborhood.
The general public of the area has appreciated Kulgam Police’s action, Excise Department & Revenue Department, and have urged to continue such drive-in nearby areas.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding the cultivation of contrabands in their neighborhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling & cultivation of contraband substances shall be dealt with as per law. Our consistent actions against such anti-social elements should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of the drug menace.
