Police in Hyderabad open fire on youth protesting against Government scheme, One dead, 14 Injured

One protester was killed when police allegedly opened fire on protesters at Secunderabad railway station on Friday.

Many of the protesters, who are of recruitment age, gathered at the station demanding long-term Army recruitment instead of the four-year period of service offered under the scheme.

Meanwhile, the government has announced to extend the upper age limit from 21 to 23 for recruitment under the Agnipath scheme for 2022 in response to the escalating protests.

According to reports, 14 others were injured during the Police firing in Secunderabad.
