Police Recovers 20 kg Charas Like Substance in Awantipora, Drug Peddler Arrested

The police on Tuesday arrested a drug peddler in Awantipora area of South Kashmir.

According to reports reaching The Kashmiriyat, police party of Police Post Reshipora during a Naka, arrested one person who was moving in a suspicious manner at Kawani crossing Awantipora.

“The arrested drug peddler was identified as Sheeraz Ahmad Bhat son of Sonaullah Bhat, a resident of Kawani,” a police official said.

He also added that 20 Kgs of grinded cannabis carried in two nylon bags was recovered from the possession of arrested person.

Meanwhile, a case vide FIR number 169/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Awantipora.

The police has requested public to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighborhood.
