
Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested two drug peddlers including a police SPO and recovered contraband substances from their possession in Baramulla.
A police party of Police Station Sheeri headed by SHO PS Sheeri under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla at a checkpoint established at Gantamulla Crossing intercepted two persons, reads police statement issued to The Kashmiriyat.
During search, 40 grams of contraband substance Charas was recovered from their possession, it adds.
The duo were identified as Umer Farooq Najar son of Farooq Ahmad & Waqar Hussain son of Arshad Ahmad Beigh both residents of Kalayban Baramulla.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Sheeri and investigation has been set into motion.
