A special Police officer of Jammu Kashmir Police decamped with nine rifles late night on Friday from Guard room at J 11 at Government Quarters Jawar Nagar area in Srinagar.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a cop presently posted as PSO (personal security official) of PDP MLA Wachi ran away with 9 rifles of cops late night on Friday.
The said cop who ran away with 7 Ak 47, 1 Insas Rifle and 1 Pistol was deployed for the security of MLA of Shopian South Kashmir.
The SPO has been identified as Adil Bashir, who is the resident of Zainapora in Shopian area of South Kashmir.
A high alert has been sounded across the area and a search operation has been launched to nab him, an official told The Kashmiriyat.
