The Policeman who was injured during an exchange of gunfire in the Nowhatta area of Srinagar on Sunday night has succumbed to his injuries,
A Police official said that Police personnel namely constable Sarfaraz Ahmad R/O Batote Ramban who was injured yesterday during an anti-militant operation at Nowhatta, succumbed to his injuries.
Pertinently on Sunday evening, Jamm Kashmir Police said that a chance encounter had broken out between militants and forces in the Nowhatta area of Srinagar.
police had in a tweet said that vehicle (scooter) used by two LeT militants has been seized from the incident site.
“Besides, one Ak-74 rifle and two grenades have been recovered while the search is still going on,” police said.
