Amid clashes that erupted in various areas of South Kashmir’s Kulgam District, Polling Booths have been safely established in various areas.
Army officials told The Kashmiriyat that despite intense clashes having erupted in various areas of the district, polling stations have been successfully installed in Khudwani, Quimoh and Buchroo.
Also polling stations have been successfully established in Frisal and Arwani areas of South Kashmir’s Kulgam District, they said.
Kulgam- a volatile district of the Kashmir valley, located down South of Kashmir’s summer capital Srinagar will be going to polls on Monday (29 April) with over 3.45 lakh electors.
The South Kashmir district has 345,486 electors including 179,607 males, 164,604 females, 1262 service electors (1254 male and 08 female) and 13 transgender voters. For smooth polling, the ECI has set up 433 polling stations across the district.
