Powerful thunderstorms expected across Kashmir, Weather alert issued

A weather alert has been issued across the Kashmir as powerful thundercloud bands are developing from south Kashmir and the western regions, likely to spread to other parts of the Valley by late evening.

The region is bracing for rain, intense thunderstorms, lightning, and strong gusty winds.

The current forecast remains valid until 10 p.m. tonight, prompting authorities and residents to stay cautious, especially in low-lying and orchard areas.

According to the latest weather calendar, from April 19 to April 20, the region may witness multiple spells of thundershowers.

During this period, strong winds and heavy showers are likely, and the spraying of orchards is once again discouraged due to potential damage and ineffectiveness.

The forecast for April 21 suggests mostly dry conditions with a chance of isolated showers in a few areas, while April 22 is expected to bring stable and dry weather across the Valley, providing a window for agricultural activities.

Farmers, travelers, and local residents are urged to stay updated with official weather advisories and take necessary precautions to mitigate any risks caused by the changing weather patterns.
