The Rural Development Department (RDD) block Achabal constructed lanes in Sheikh Mohallah, Dompora and Chek localities of Khundroo area in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) District a few months ago, however the path has developed cracks within a short span of time.
The Kashmiriyat team visited the spot and found out that a sub standardized material has been used for the construction work and the cracks have widened with time.
“The scene is same everywhere in the area, they spend money on construction works, but it is all useless, it seems that the work is done for a few months, this work also lasted for a few months and now in the coming year, they might have to spend lacs for the construction of what they have already constructed,”a local Nazir Ahmed told The Kashmiriyat.

He added that the RDD has used low quality material in the construction work and it looks like cement has nt even been used.
Locals from the areas speaking to The Kashmiriyat asked for the intervention of the Director of Rural Development Department and District Development Commissioner to investigate the matter thoroughly.
The District Development commissioner (DDC), Younis Malik and Hilal Ahmed, the Assistant commissioner Development (ACD) for district Islamabad (Anantnag) upon being contacted said that they will personally investigate the matter.
The RDD, Block Achabal had undertaken several construction projects in the Khundroo areas, but the construction has either suffered massive damage or has turned invisible from the ground.
The larger question of the public interest that remains is, if it is a proper usage of Public Funds? (The Kashmiriyat)
