
A Renowned Kashmiri political activist passed away at his residence in Srinagar.
Family members told The Kashmiriyat that Nisar Hussain Rather, a resident of Bemina in Srinagar passed away after a brief spell of illness this morning.
He was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Srinagar and the funeral prayers were attended by hundreds of people including prominent personalities.
The deceased was a close associate of Itehad ul Muslimeen, one of the major Constituents of the Muslim United Front that contested the rigged elections of 1987.
His death has been widely condoled by various sections of the society.
