With the continuous spike in coronavirus outbreak in India where more than 69,500 cases are being reported in 24 hours and the death toll has reached 53,866, Pune is one of the states where the rate of recovery is improving at large scale.
With the appointment of new District Collector Rajesh Deshmukh, the recovery rate has been improving tremendously. Pune is well equipped to defeat COVID-19, said Deshmukh.
With the onset of the pandemic in India, Pune has a high number of COVID cases but at the same time, it has been conducting the highest number of tests per day.
In July, the rate of recovery in Pune was about 50% and now it has gone up to 75% unlike many other states of India.
Deshmukh has credited the state’s health mechanism for improved recovery rate. He said that the fast-improving recovery rate is the result of good health machinery of the state.
Everyday testing at large scale is one of the ways so far to fight the deadly virus, which has claimed 22.4 million lives worldwide.
