Racket Involved in Issuing Fake Income Certificates Busted, Four Arrested in Srinagar

Authorities on Tuesday claimed to have busted a racket by arresting four persons who were allegedly involved in issuing fake income certificates by using forged signatures and seals of Tehsildars.

Official sources told the news agency- Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that Tehsildar Eidgah Srinagar with the assistance of SDPO Hazratbal and SHO Zadibal police station laid a successful raid on a computer center at Alamgiri Bazar Chowk and busted a racket of accused who were involved in forging fake documents.

The documents include income certificates under the fake signatures and seals of Tehsildar Eidgah, Khanyar, and Srinagar central, they said.

During the raid, seals of CMO and other offices and dozens of fake income certificates were recovered, they said, adding that laptops and cash around Rs 40 thousand were also confiscated.

The main accused identified as Zeeshan Ahmad along with three others were arrested on the spot, they said, adding that a case has also been registered in police station Zadibal. (KNO)
