Rahul Gandhi supports JKNC’s ‘anti-national’ agenda: HM Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah sharply criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday, accusing him of standing with forces that threaten India’s unity and security.

Shah’s remarks came while Gandhi is on a three-day visit to the United States.

In a post on social media platform X, Shah alleged that Rahul Gandhi’s statements, both at home and abroad, are consistently harmful to the country.

“Standing with forces that conspire to divide the country and making anti-national statements have become a habit for Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party,” Shah stated.

Shah also accused Gandhi of supporting the Jammu Kashmir National Conference’s (JKNC) “anti-national” agenda, particularly on reservations, and claimed Gandhi’s recent remarks about potentially abolishing reservations exposed the Congress party’s long-standing opposition to them.

“By speaking about abolishing reservations, Rahul Gandhi has once again revealed the Congress’s true face. I want to assure him that as long as the BJP is in power, no one can abolish reservations or undermine national security,” Shah asserted.

Rahul Gandhi, during an interaction with students and faculty at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, suggested that reservations could only be reconsidered when India becomes a fair and just society. He later clarified that he was misquoted, maintaining his stance in favor of addressing social inequalities.

Gandhi’s visit to the US has sparked political debates back home, with BJP leaders taking sharp aim at his remarks and accusing the Congress of playing divisive politics.
