Rain and thundershowers expected in Jammu Kashmir until July 15

The meteorological department on Tuesday forecasted a brief spell of rain and thundershowers at scattered locations in the Jammu Division and isolated areas in the Kashmir Valley until July 10.

The department also predicted light to moderate rain/thundershowers at scattered to fairly widespread places from July 11 to 13, with the possibility of heavy rain in isolated parts of the Jammu Division on July 12. For July 14-15, a brief spell of rain/thundershowers is expected at isolated places.

Regarding temperatures, a meteorological official reported that Srinagar recorded a low of 18.0°C, compared to 16.4°C the previous night, which is 0.2°C below the normal for this time of year.

Qazigund recorded a minimum temperature of 15.0°C, down from 13.4°C the previous night, 1.6°C below normal. Pahalgam recorded a low of 11.1°C, down from 9.5°C, 1.3°C below normal. Kokernag recorded a minimum of 15.4°C, compared to 14.0°C, 0.4°C below normal.

Kupwara town recorded a low of 15.3°C, down from 14.2°C, 1.1°C below normal. Gulmarg recorded a minimum of 12.0°C, up from 10.0°C, which is normal for the area.

Jammu recorded a low of 21.6°C, 4.2°C below normal. Banihal recorded a low of 17.8°C, Batote 18.9°C, and Bhaderwah 19.7°C.
