
Several parts of Jammu Kashmir are set to receive showers over the next few days, with weather experts warning of possible heavy spells that could lead to flash floods and landslides in vulnerable areas.
On July 21, the plains of Jammu are expected to witness monsoon showers, some of which could be heavy, particularly during the early morning hours. In Kashmir, rainfall is likely in scattered areas, mostly during the late afternoon, evening, or night.
Rainfall activity is set to intensify on July 22, with most regions of Jammu and Kashmir expected to receive showers, as per Kashmir Weather.
Jammu plains are likely to experience rain mainly during the first half of the day, while the Kashmir Valley and higher reaches may see precipitation later in the day. However, some areas might remain dry for most of the day.
On July 23, many parts of the Union Territory are again expected to receive monsoon showers. The following day, July 24, may bring some relief as weather conditions are expected to improve, with only light showers possible in a few places and no major weather activity anticipated.
From July 25 onwards, the weather is expected to remain generally dry. Although isolated areas may experience light rainfall, no significant weather disturbances are forecast.
Weather authorities have cautioned that a few areas might experience heavy downpours, potentially triggering brief flash floods.
“There is also a possibility of landslides or shooting stones, particularly along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway,” the report read.
Travelers and residents are advised to remain cautious and stay updated with the latest advisories.
