Anantnag Police has urged social media users to avoid spreading rumors or unverified information.
In an appeal issued here, police said that strict legal action would be taken against anyone found involved in such activities.
“Let’s act responsibly and help maintain peace and harmony,” the police statement added.
The appeal comes a day after a girl from Anantnag was found dead in Srinagar, days after her kidnapping took place.
