4 Army men Including Major Killed in North Kashmir Encounter

 August 07 An Indian Army Major and three soldiers were killed in a gunfight with Militant in Gurez Sector along the Line of Control in North Kashmir's Bandipora District. Reports suggest that Army intercepted a group of eight infiltrators who were trying to cross from Gurez in north Kashmir. The infiltration bid was foiled and two Militants have also been shot dead, they said. The killed troopers have been identified as Major KP Rane, Havaldar Jamie Singh, Havaldar Vikramjeet and Rifleman Mandeep from Indian Army's 36 RR. Details Emerging.

The Government forces laid down a Cordon and search operation in Gusoo area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Monday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 55RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir Police laid down the Search operation jointly. August 06 The Food Safety Department of Jammu Kashmir Government on Monday inspected the premises of Paradise Hotel & Restaurant in Pahalgam area of South Kashmir and took action against the hotel for not following a proper dress code. The team of food safety department was headed by Assistant Commissioner of the department, Islamabad (Anantnag). Speaking to The Kashmiriyat the Assistant Director of Food Safety Department said that Action has been initiated against the Hotel adding that the samples of food have been sent for laboratory analysis.
