“Release the Salary of Our Parents”- Children of PHE Employees Hold Sit-in at Srinagar

Scores of daily wagers working in the PHE department along with their families held a massive protest demonstration here on Tuesday to press for the release of their pending salaries.

Protesting under the banner of Kashmir PHE Joint Employees Association, daily wagers with their family members assembled here in Pratap Park while chanting anti- government and anti PHE department slogans while holding banners and placards which read, “we want justice”, “pay us to let us pay fee of our wards” and “Please release pending wages of my father.”

They said that their wards are being rusticated from their schools since they failed to pay their tuition fee, now they are with no option except keeping their children at home and deprive them schooling. Photo- Firdous Qadri~The Kashmiriyat
Association Chairman Sajad Ahmad Parray said that, “The department is fooling us by holding our salaries and our concern salary file is being tossed from table to table in the department,” he said. “We will not bend down till our demands are met”/ Photo- Firdous Qadri~The Kashmiriyat
