Renowned Anantnag trader passes away

Renowed trader from the main town of Anantnag in south Kashmir passed away after a brief illness at his residence.

Family members speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that Ghulam Rasool Malik breathed his last at his residence in the Sarnal area of Anantnag.

Originally a resident of Cheeni Chowk, the deceased was a renowned Manari and hoisery trader at Reshi Bazar, one of the oldest markets of the Anantnag district.

Two of his son, Malik Zakir nd Mehraj u Din passed away three months ago and their demise brought great tragedy to the family, they said.

His death is being widely mourned in the Anantnag town and various social, religious organisations have expressed grief over his demise.

Hundreds of people reached his home in Sarnal Anantnag while many more participated in his funeral held at Sherbagh Anantnag this evening.
