The Residents of Srandoo of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday staged a protest against the water scarcity in the area.
Scores of protestors assembled near the main road connecting Anantnag and Kulgam Kulgam and blocked the road for several hours.

“We are facing immense hardships due to the shortage of water for the last four months”, said a protestor appealing to the concerned authorities to look into the matter and provide adequate water supply to the local population during the holy month of Ramadan.

“We will be forced to hit the roads if authorities fail to restore drinking water supply to the area at the earliest”, another protestor told The Kashmiriyat.
