The residents of Batwara area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district staged a protest against the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department over the issue of non-availability of drinking water in the area.
The residents speaking to The Kashmiriyat demanded clean drinking water for their survival as the area is facing acute shortage of drinking water facilities.
Groups of men and women, who were part of the protest, assembled on the Sonwar- Pantha Chowk road for several hours, as a result, the road was blocked.
The protestors also raised slogans against the PHE.
