Sheikh Mohammad Aslam, a retired Superintendent of Police, was arrested under the Official Secrets Act (OSA) on Friday night.
Aslam was apprehended for allegedly disclosing “some FIRs and sensitive information” in his book.
Aslam’s law enforcement career began in 1986 as an Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police (ASI), and he later received out-of-turn promotions to attain the rank of SP.
He currently resides in the Gandhi Nagar area of Jammu city and is originally from Udhampur district.
