Riyaz Naikoo, the commander of Militant outfit Hizb ul Mujahideen as per locals escaped a massive cordon and Search operation launched in Khuri Batpora area of Damhal hanjipora Belt in South Kashmir’s Kulgam District on Sunday.
The Government forces including 62 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and 18 BN CRPF laid down the Search operation jointly.

As soon as the CASO was Launched, Hundreds of youth hit the streets when the Anti Militancy operation was launched and threw stones on troops amid intense pro Freedom sloganeering.
11 Youth were injured during the intense clashes while the Forces were conducting A Door to door search operation in the area after all the entry and exit points were sealed to the Batpora village.
As per the locals, the top commander of Hizb, Riyaz Naikoo was trapped in the village along with his associates, but he managed to escape the spot.
However officials said this is a rumour, but they had inputs about Militant presence in the area.
