Two days after Satyapal Malik, the last Governor of Jammu Kashmir claimed that PM Modi asked him to remain silent over the security lapse and denial of planes by BJP Government to ferry CRPF personnel, a protest was staged at the spot of the occurrence of the suicide bombing incident in Pulwama.

Led by Congress president Jammu Kashmir, Viqar Rasool, Scores of people raising slogans against PM Modi and BJP said that the PM should apologize to India for using the sacrifice of troopers in Pulwama for “electoral gains.”

“We choose this place in Lethpora Pulwama to remember the soldiers who sacrificed their life for us. The shocking revelations by Satyapal Malik have refreshed the deep wounds the tragedy of Pulwama inflicted upon the conscience of this country,” Viqar Rasool said.

40 CRPF troopers were killed in Lethpora Pulwama when a suicide bomber rammed his car into a CRPF convoy on February 14, 2019, triggering a national wave against militancy in Kashmir. Kashmiris including students and working professionals were attacked in several cities of India in the aftermath of the deadly attack.

In a recent interview, the then Governor of Jammu Kashmir Satyapal Malik said that the CRPF had demanded a special aircraft for ferrying their personnel from Srinagar, however, the request was denied by Home Ministry of India. “Had the planes been provided, the tragedy could have been averted,” Malik had told during the interview.
