Saudi Arabia thwarts missiles aimed at Israel: Report

Saudi Arabia stopped one of the missiles that Iran-backed Houthi rebels shot at Israel last week, Wall Street Journal reported.

The United States managed to shoot down the other four missiles from BB its USS Carney warship.

Saudi Arabia’s involvement in missile defense was not previously known.

They use the Patriot Missile Defense system provided by the US. The US believes that these missiles were likely targeting Israel.

The Pentagon spokesperson, Pat Ryder, mentions that there is no explicit proof that Iran ordered these recent missile attacks by its proxies.

However, a senior Defense Department official briefing reporters separately states that the US holds Iran responsible.

The official suggests that there are clear signs of Iranian involvement in the increased attacks by various groups.
