Scattered rain in Kashmir from May 27

The Meteorological Centre in Srinagar has issued a weather forecast predicting a shift in Jammu Kashmir’s weather over the coming days, with scattered showers and thunderstorms likely across various parts of the region.

According to Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, Director of the Meteorological Department, May 25 and 26 will remain hot and dry, though isolated light rain may occur, especially in the late afternoon.

From May 27 through May 31, scattered to widespread light and moderate rainfall accompanied by thundershowers is expected in many areas. Some locations may experience heavy showers and strong gusty winds during this period.

Additionally, brief spells of rain or thunderstorms could occur at isolated spots on June 1 and 2.

The Met Department also forecasts a relief from ongoing heatwave conditions, with maximum temperatures predicted to drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in several places until the end of May.

Authorities have advised the public and local officials to stay cautious and prepared for possible thunderstorms and strong winds during the late May period
