A magistrate in UP’s Moradabad was suspended after he sent a bulldozer to demolish the house of a Muslim furniture trader after the latter asked the former to clear his dues.
Last month, Zahid Ahmed claimed that SDM Ghanshyam Verma bulldozed a portion of his house when he asked him to pay for the furniture purchased by him. A probe was ordered into Ahmed’s allegations by the district administration, Muslim Mirror reported.
Verma was found guilty in the investigation and suspended. Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Kumar Awasthi said, “The administration submitted an inquiry report that indicted the officer. No one guilty of misdeed would be spared. The move is in accordance with the state government’s zero tolerance policy against corruption.”
