Shopian: In the backdrop of heavy snowfall on 23rd February 2022 in Kashmir Valley particularly in South Kashmir, SDM Zainapora, Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad Lone, KAS personally monitored the snow clearance work on different roads, restoration of power supply, water supply and other essential services in the Sub-Division.
Early morning on Thursday, the SDM got his Sub-Divisional Winter Control Room operational while personally monitoring it, kept the executing agencies on toes and got the snow clearance work 95% completed by the evening of 24th February.
Under the supervision of SDM some emergency cases of far flung area i.e.Chandwara, Amarbugh, Aglar and Narwani were attended and patients lifted/rescued with the assistance of Police, Health, R&B and Mechanical Engineering Department.
Damages occured to electricity wires, poles and other infrastructure of the PDD was repaired and within 24 hours 50% electricity was restored in the Sub-Division.
Two Nomad families stationed at Naghar Kralckeck whose temporary shelters were damaged through heavy snow fall were also shifted at safer place instantly. The enthusiastic mode of the SDM Zainapora with professional flavour of dedication was hailed by the general public largely.
