The search operation in the Sanyal area of Hiranagar, Kathua, of Jammu division, continued for the third consecutive day on Tuesday.
Officials told news agency JKNS that no terrorist has been killed so far, and security forces are still combing the area to ensure there is no threat.
The operation was launched after specific inputs and suspicious movement in the area. During the initial exchange of fire, a 7-year-old girl from Bihar sustained minor injuries.
Earlier, sources had said that 4–5 armed militants were suspected to be present in the area.
Jammu Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat is on the ground, personally supervising the ongoing operation. (JKNS)
