On the second day, the Government forces continued the cordon and search operation in the Manzgam area of Kulgam.
Earlier, officials said that the three troopers were killed during an encounter that raged in the area on Friday evening.
Two more troopers who were injured are being treated at the hospital, they said.
Meanwhile, an official said that there has been no contact with the militants after the initial one.
The searches are going on to trace the group of militants, he said.
